Potential labels for hand-made presents

The inspiration came from some ready-made labels, but with the new machine, I had to do it myself (and put a colorful twist on the forever-O...)

I can't wait for the post-Christmas-present-making recovery...

I'm not quite through all the pieces I intended to make for family and friends this Christmas. I should have penciled in more than a month and a half to make 20 gifts... lesson learned.

Super-uber-chunky cowl... DONE. (My own pattern)

Beginning of a simple fair isle hat... (My own pattern)

Chunky cable hat... DONE.

Preparing another skein to knit...

this hat was among the first to get finished.

Among the presents not quite finished, but getting there...

Next year, I need to come up with a better game plan...

The new machines

So I splurged and got myself a new machine...

Then I got excited and found a serger on craislist. I biked up into Washinton to pick it up. It was bigger than I thought, but I got a box of thread to go with it.

Now it's like I have my own little workshop. 8D

Beginning steps: Moscow Transit Map Quilt

I love transit maps. And this... is one of my favorites.

I've begun the process of quilt preparation. My colors are decided. Next step: Fabric.

Puffy ball, cabled hat

A one-day hat I made. I used a smaller yarn, with bigger needles, so it's slightly more holey than I thought, but I came up with the pattern on the go, so I'd make a few changes if a similar hat is too be made. I'm in love with the poof ball though...

My biggest problem when designing a pattern is knowing how many stitches to cast on given the yarn and needles. I'm not a gage-knitter. It's my first and biggest fault.
