Inspired Cycling Cap
An old land's end button up shirt, some ribbons... could this be the next cycling cap?

Landscape Inspiration
Springwater Corridor trail in SE Portland.
Sunset over the bridges in Portland.
Beginning of 25th Birthday Hike, a 33-mile trek from Sauvie's Island to the Portland Zoo through Forrest Park. Beautiful. I lost a toenail.
Goldilocks Hat
After three tries (one too small, one too large, and one just right) of this Interweave Knit fair isle cap, it felt so good to slide this over my braids and walk about, proud of the final accomplishment taking a little over a year, here and there... Then it got into my dirty laundry.
Now it's destined to be a beer cozy...
Potential labels for hand-made presents
The inspiration came from some ready-made labels, but with the new machine, I had to do it myself (and put a colorful twist on the forever-O...)
I can't wait for the post-Christmas-present-making recovery...
I'm not quite through all the pieces I intended to make for family and friends this Christmas. I should have penciled in more than a month and a half to make 20 gifts... lesson learned.

The new machines
So I splurged and got myself a new machine...
Then I got excited and found a serger on craislist. I biked up into Washinton to pick it up. It was bigger than I thought, but I got a box of thread to go with it.

Puffy ball, cabled hat
A one-day hat I made. I used a smaller yarn, with bigger needles, so it's slightly more holey than I thought, but I came up with the pattern on the go, so I'd make a few changes if a similar hat is too be made. I'm in love with the poof ball though...
My biggest problem when designing a pattern is knowing how many stitches to cast on given the yarn and needles. I'm not a gage-knitter. It's my first and biggest fault.

Nightie
I made myself a nightie out of an old shirt and some extra jersey. I spent some time making strips of fabric into a braid pattern. I used a yoga bolster to pin before I sewed onto the hem. It's a roughly done nightie, made to look deconstructed, but it's super comfy.
I used the dress form to figure out how to fit it to my body. One change I'd make is the straps, made from braiding strips of the old t-shirt, I'd add some stiffer cord or woven straps to keep them from sagging after wearing.
Hem, in the making
Finished garmet.

Curtain Cycling Cap
In a first attempt at making a cycling cap, I repurposed some old kitchen curtains and a bike tube, using this pattern.
The curtain, pre-cap.
The cap, in pieces.

Anthropologie Window Displays -- Serious Stuff
I think maybe I would like to buy a house. Only I want a glass house. A house of windows. That way, my home can be one big Anthropology window display.

Used Bike Tubes
The main use for bike tires may be for transportation, but what to do with old rubber tubes after they run (roll?) their course? Two ideas:
1) Making ear buds big enough to stay in my ears.
2) Shoe laces that never have to be untied.
